Mariano's off 360 near Six Flags Drive is pretty good. They have the same place in Dallas off Abrams and Skillman. Fajitas Lites and Sundance fajitas are allsome.
If you don't want Hooters or On the Border there is some other quality places like TGI Fridays over on Collins st, Tony Romas, and Chilis.
There is a Bennigans and a Cracker Barrel on the other side of the freeway from the Ballpark if you want to spice it up and look for a little more variety.
I lived in Arlington for way too long. It's about as boring a city as you can have with a good size University and pretty large population. If you're 16 you can go to Six Flags or the waterpark. Other than that there's like 2 bars in the city that aren't attached to a restaurant. You can always hang out at the Parks Mall, that's pretty money.
Actually, Caves is ok, but that Sunshine place is about as much of a misnomer as you can ever imagine. I spent 5 minutes in there and I wanted to kill myself.
I live in Alington and my advice is to drive 15 minutes west to downtown FW.
There isn't much here in the way of entertaining things, but what I like about living here is that both Dallas and FW are quick to get to.
I think the landscape of Arlington is going to be changing befre too long. The big development between BPIA and Cowboy Stadium looks very promising, and will hopefully help attract private investment in venues that have not previously looked very seriously at Arlington. There are also even some rumors about devlopment around the UTA area, which would be nice because that area is just to the south and west of the new football stadium. I'm sure that Andrew from UT Law could provide a lot more information on all of this.
As for Olenjack's, it hasn't been open very long. It is located in Lincoln Square, just west of N. Collins and just south of I 30. The location was formerly a Flying Saucer. I know a guy who knows Olenjack, and he loves the place. I have not yet been, but plan to go soon.
