I like how any company that is trying to manufacture a green energy product can't find any capitalization without a massive government loan and the success rate doesn't appear to be very high which means its a waste. And let's face it, these are grants, not loans. This also shows the incompetence of the negotiators. The "loans" should have been contingent upon US factories and US jobs. Its like the administrations billions gift to brazil to build their national oil companies offshore production while it killed a few hundred thousand jobs on the gulf coast. Most anti-American administration in history.

AS an asjunct to the OP, not as outrageous in terms of our omney wasted but certainly an amazing act of stupidity both in the way the porkulus bill was written and in the way these foresty Firms used our money
. In Oregon we gave stimulus to Forestry service frms who then went out and hired Foreign workers.

A Labor Department Inspector General report released this week found that $7,140,782 in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds went to four Oregon forestry services firms who hired no U.S. workers. From the report:
Only two Oregonians were listed on the employer recruitment reports, indicating that workers in Oregon were likely unaware these job opportunities were available. In fact, although 146 U.S. workers were contacted by the three employers regarding possible employment, none were hired. Instead, 254 foreign workers were brought into the country for these jobs.The Link


why didn't teh simulus bill require hiring of American citizens as a condition of getting our money?
I know the dems took out a E Verify requirement so illegals got hired
but in this case legal foreign workers were brought in. Does anyone think there are no skilled loggers in the Northwest?

Its hard to stimulate the economy to begin with, with government funds. Its impossible when the funds go to foreign workers. More gov incompetence and reason 10946373 why the stimulus was nothing more than a pr move and bad idea
