Are there any new curse words?

When was the last time we got a new cuss word? A co-worker and I were discussing this and could not come up with any new ones. We recognized some new words/sayings that were either racial slurs or descriptions of sex acts, but not really "curse words". We also noticed some more modern uses of old cuss words, for example new combinations with other words, but still using the same old cuss words.

Much to my satisfaction, the terms "douche," "douche-bag," and "douchey" appear to be making a comeback in the popular vernacular.

Is taint a bad word?

Has anyone written a book on the history of bad words?

If not someone should... It could delve into their origin and discuss at which point they became "bad" (such as '***'). And it could be called 'Old as ****'

I thought of taint, but I hear it on the radio so it couldn't be too bad.

Crap used to, at least in some circles be a bad word, but now its use has made into the mainstream and is no longer bad.

Douche is close because it definitely has taken on a new meaning, kinda like ***** did, but because its also the name of a product you can still say it without "cussing".

I remember when I was little, I was hanging out with my cousins (similar age as me), and I said something "sucks". They looked at me like I was about to be struck by lightning. Now 'suck' is so mainstream my parents say it.

I think douche as an insult is a cuss word. Calling someone a ***** is a cuss word, why wouldn't douche or douche bag? Simple test: would you call someone a ***** or douche in front of an old or young person and feel guilty about it?

I personally verbalized "bar-*******-barian" way back in 1964.

I had never heard that word before. I said it.

It came to me while drinking beer with friends as we listened to The Rolling Stones and compared their music with that of The Beatles.

This is the first time I've bothered to formally take credit for adding that curse word into vernacular usage.

I think taint is the most current (within 10 years old) that I know of and use...

Also my friends use a word, 'budussy'. It's a scent. So if something smells bad, you say it smells like budussy. If you'd like a better defenition look here: Budussy

I first heard the definition of taint about 40 years ago. I'm very glad to hear that such vintage material is still new. I'm feeling much better about myself.

Urban Dictionary is the beginning and the end of this subject.
Oh, and Douche and all of its forms is very alive and well in 2008.
