Are there any document scanners that don't suck?

So I've got a 3-4 year old dell all in one printer/scanner/etc... and it sux. It takes ~1 minute to scan a single page.

What I want to do is scan old docs (tax returns, bills, etc...) and back it all up on Mozy and get rid of all the filing cabinets and other nonsense I've bought just to hold paper. Is there such a thing as an easy way to scan documents (kind of like with a normal work-style printer) where I can just put them in a holding queue, and the machine will automagically scan each page for me. Does this type of thing exist?

I bought one of these on sale from Dell- and it had an additional rebate at the time. Works great - though I haven't scanned thousands of pages- but, works on weird size/ thickness papers (like magazine pages), and does double sided. Comes with Adobe Acrobat. You can scan to print, scan to .pdf, email, etc.

Fujitsu ScanSnap

I ended up buying an epson workforce 600.The Link

I'll let you know how it works once I set it up. I didn't today, as I feared striking out on tools
1) Pandigital digital photo screen - broken
2) Logitech universal remote - handful of buttons broken

I was going to say reduce the resolution to the lowest necessary for what you need is the surest way to speed the scan.

I have yet to see a single all-in-one for home that works well as a scanner. I have a Fujitsu ScanSnap that I use at home for scanning and would highly recommend.

Another plug for the Snapscan. We have had one in my office for about 3 years and have been very satisfied with it.
