...that the Big XII just might come out of all this OK, and that Texas, OU, OSU, Tech, Baylor, Kansas, K State, Iowa State, and Missouri, with some others, just might make a damned good conference; and that Texas will be just fine?

Scared of what? I think they might actually be laughing. You have to understand the mindset of most college football fans. They just think Texas wants their own little pond and be the big fish because they (they being Texas) are the one's who are scared to compete on the field.

as crappy as the other conferences are, the big XII is still second best and right there with the SEC imo. A&M is going to regret the move. I do find fascinating the argument from B/CS that they are more culturally similar to the SEC. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have family that went to LSU and I have been to plenty of SEC games and spent time with their fans. They are nothing alike. A&M is a culture among itself.
