Are high waters in style

or am I surrounded by dorks?

Seems like lots of dudes are wearing their pants much higher than they used to. If I can see your sock while your standing you look like your expecting a flood. Its so common I'm starting to think it must be the new fashion trend that I'm not aware of.

You must be in Dallas.

i haven't seen that yet, but that might be one of the worst fashion trends of the last 20 years if so.

Cuffing the bottom of the pants seems to be in - especially if you are wearing Chuck Taylors. I didn't receive the memo saying it's ok for people over the age of 12 to wear Chuck Taylors.

The European students wear capris.

The correct length is still about an inch above ground in the back, while the front covers the laces (for dress shoes with ~3 eyelets) and the fabric buckles near ankle level.

I can guarantee you if it is in style, you can thank the 80s for that! The fashion from then is coming back now... hence the "pop collar". Obviously, they are unable to come up with a new fashion trend that they have to resort back to 20 years ago to one of the worst times of fashion EVER!!

OMG, Steel...that is hysterical!

Please don't let high waters be the next fashion trend or I will be so NOT in fashion.

Been the trend now for 3-4 months I think. Terrible. You're a tool if you subscribe to this type of annual ******** when the designers need to think of something to justify their existence.

Might the baggy shorts people are wearing now, which seem to get longer every year, now be mistaken for high waters?

high waters are never in and won't be in.

I can't stand the ever revovling 'in' fashion statements. Find your own fashion I say. Wear what you like and what fits your style. I wear black slacks. They work with everything. I prefer cuffed, but they aren't high waters.

If high waters are never in, how in the hell is anyone supposed to see your white cotton socks and your spit polished penny loafers?

I would rather see socks than overweight *** cheeks hanging out over the waist band that just happens to be sitting on the knees.

^^^NASTY.

I was talking more about the guys who have their underwear showing and the jeans hanging below the kid's butt cheeks.

No pics needed. I see it everyday I drive.

There is a chick in my office who wears these pants that are too long to be capris but too short to be pants, so I'd say they're high-waters. Then again, she is short, so maybe they are capris but they just look like high-waters on her. Oh she also wears white trouser socks underneath her pants/high-waters, which are usually black.

There is also a dude here who wears high-waters, but I think it's because his butt is so big (it's not fat, it just really juts out, kind of like a ghetto booty I guess) that it makes his pants rise up further. He is also a dork though, so it could be that as well.

Some of my pants border on high-waters because I have a short torso and long legs and it's really hard to find long pants for women.

One of the hazards of getting old is that you begin to see new fashions as stupider than the old fashions you already wear.
