Are Europeans a Dying Breed?

europeans are so full of themselves, they have become too lazy and self-centered to have children. americans are kind of heading that way. asians/middle easterners still live in a more traditional family unit type so they continue to grow.

I read that wolves are returning to city centers in (the former) East Germany because they have become so unpopulated. Same with parts of Russia.

Why the animosity for those who plan their family size, whatever it may be? Overpopulation is a huge problem in the world. More education of women=more thoughtfully planned families.
It is hard to drive over there, though, what with all the trees growing up through the cracks in the pavement of all the highways.

I have European heritage. I beseech any woman of European decent to contact me for impregnation. Our people are dying.

We are riding an exponential population curve, and this is not what the die-off looks like. Rather, this is what happens when the organism in question is smarter than a Gram-negative bacterium (sometimes).

Good for Europe.

Gram-negative bacteria you say?

[smokes pipe]

The situation is truly more dire than I had imagined.

Ladies, we must act now. GRAM-NEGATIVE BACTERIA!!! OUR CELLS WALLS!!! THE HORROR!!!

the only solution for europe is to import the offspring of immigrants who came to the states generations ago. that it will help further spread americanization wouldn't hurt either

The world is not over populated. The resources of the world are not well distributed. Currently, the world produces more than enough for the basic needs of the world to be taken care of. The problem is distribution.

Stabone, I am curious about your less religion thing. I really don't think that is possible. In fact, it is interesting that some in the US believe that the US is becoming both MORE and LESS religious at the same time. If West Maul is any indication I would agree with that. People seem to be either MORE devoted or not devoted.

This is flabbergasting. "if current trends continue, by 2050 only 5 percent of the world will be European."

I cannot see how anyone would disagree with the fact that the world is horribly overpopulated, but I know there are those who think differently than myself.
More people could live on planet earth, it is true, but not with much standard of living-with greatly reduced freedoms, with greatly reduced wild spaces, on and on.

American family size is certain to decline also. Just wait for the minivan and 8 person SUV demise at $8 a gallon.

Tribes are periodically killed, driven, or bred out of their lands. Others merge with those making incursions into their territories. Europe in particular has seen quite a few inhabitants displaced by more numerous and/or aggressive newcomers over the centuries and the millennia. As a species we are still in log growth phase. Some populations will wax while others wane. When and at what level we hit our overall peak remains to be seen.

I am not certain that (1) the associations between European nations' women and workplaces noted necessarily represent causally related events, or that (2) if so they would apply in the US. The analysis was interesting, however.

Who knows-- maybe we will "create" a new ethnicity the way we did when a few Southern Europeans were mixed with the indigenous New World population in the 15th-19th centuries.
