Hey Hornfans. As many of you know, I am a partner in a small architecture firm here in Austin. Well, as many can probably guess the current economy has slowed things down to a near halt. If anyone out there has a need for design, planning or just general architectural consultation, please contact me. I can verify lf68 does great work. Unlike the other architects I have dealt with he actually listened to me and didn't tell me how I need to do something.

BlackLab is right; I saw the .pdf version of plans LHF put together for his current casa & he has 'repurposed' the existing truss system for a very modern take on an old & some what tired standard small house (nothing personal, BL, but it's no secret to those that have been there that you are probably cramped to the gills... & fix that mailbox!).

BL had asked me if I thought the reuse of the truss system was a good way to go & looking @ the plans, I have no concerns about their ability to be reused in this manner, although from a stylistic perspective, it's not really my cuppa Joe (think "Dwell" vs. "Western Horseman").

The wife 'n I are considering LHF's services for our upcoming house project & @ this point, it's probably more a matter of "when", not "if" ($$ for the project as a whole is our biggest concern).

So, from a preliminary standpoint, he's got this roofer's pinniped of approval.

LF68, do you just do projects in/around Austin?

Primarily, yes. But since we are licensed in the state of Texas, we can do projects anywhere in the state (and can do design for any project - just can't seal drawings for projects in other states).

We are doing projects in San Marcos, Elgin, Fredericksburg and one near Lubbock, so we can reach outside the Austin borders.
