Apparently, OU is going to have a lot of talent

Next year is a horrible year for QB's.
Who is going to get drafted as a QB in the B12? Chase, maybe somewhere, maybe late, Harrell? unlikely unless late.
Nationally? Tebow? probably not unless late.
Bradford is not ready yet but, if he's projected to be a top 10 pick then he pretty much has to come out.
I can't remember a worse season heading into next year for the QB draft as the one in 09.
 
I wasn't slamming Bradford, just thought that was way too high for him. I agree with you about next year being a bad year for QBs, but it will be better than 2008. If Alex Smith can be taken number 1 over, then so can Tebow who has better mobility, a better arm and is much stronger. Tim Tebow will be a project in the NFL, but less of a project than Jamarcus Russell, who was chosen number 1 overall last year if memory serves. JR will be a major bust in the nfl.
 
I think it's way too high & way too early to discuss Bradford getting drafted personally.
While he has uncanny accuracy, he needs to develope more to be a complete playmaker.
Don't get me wrong, if a guy is open, he will deliver but, can he scramble & find a guy when everything breaks down?
Can he sell the fake handoff better this year? He pump fakes pretty well right now but, can he glare down a covered man & toss it to the other side?
Those are the little things I'll look for this year.
He had a hell of a year last year & it would seem he'll only get better but, he hasn't reached his full potential yet, imo.
I'd put him right now at about 50% realized potential. I think he's that good.
But, w/ the terrible shape the NFL draft is going to be for QB's in 09, I can see him having the luxury of having a pretty damn good OL & striking while it's hot & coming out.
If he sniffs top 10 then I don't see him having much of a choice if it were my pocket book.

ESPN Radio is absolute crap...other than Mike and Mike. ESPN's coverage of the draft was a train wreck. If the NFL Network works a deal with the cable companies, then this was the last year for ESPN to have the draft. NFL Networks coverage of the draft was so much better, other than having Casserly.
 
The Texas classes that are ranked higly are from 06-08. Thopse classes haven't peaked yet and the overall texas program won't peak until 2009 and 2010. Thus for Texas the big years upcoming in the draft are 2010 and 2011. So goiing to have to wait 2 years for the start of that.

What a great website this waterfootball.com is too. I always go there for trust info. They haven't even updated the 2008 NFL draft and list it as projected. So they are projecting then the 09 draft to draft based on needs from what they drafted in 08 and that isn't even correct. If Loadholt or Harris go in 1st round I wold be very very suprised.
 
Nope. Like someone said he will be ou for a while. He will play a couple of more years then beat one of his teamates up which will result in a twisted ankle that will result in his missing the last two minutes of the annual sooner bowl el foldo. Due to this heartbreaking turn of events the NCAA will give him two additional years of eligibility and Stoops will make him captain and assisant head coach. sadly the pressure will get to him and destroy his relationship with his sister / girlfriend and since he has no other sisters he is destined to die alone. But thats just my guess
 
if bradford comes out next year, and it drafted in the top 10, i will never post on hornfans again.

bad mock draft. just like Kiper having allen patrick rated the number freaking one rb coming out at the beginning of this year. bad analysis.
 
I agree with them not peaking yet. Charles and Finley would have been first day pics next year. Maybe Miller and Orakpo if they have big years.
 
Bradford is a scratch golfer & averaged a double-double in basketball.
Lil' research on the kid would help when you bash him if you don't want to look foolish.

Despite that, I don't need to know his BB stats to see that the kid doesn't have great arm strengt zero scrambling ability.
 
And, I don't think we will know all that much more about him after this next year. OU will be starting 5 seniors on their offensive line. If they remain injury free, pass protection should be pretty salty. He should have a lot of time to find receivers who will have more time to get open because of the protection. Whether he improves on his progression and reads will be interesting though.
 
Sam is a hell of a qb... a first round pick at this point he is not. He does not have a first round arm either, but it is every bit as good if not better than Colt's...
 
Hey, many thought the same thing about Colt after his redshirt freshman season. Then line injuries, receiving injuries, and perhaps some soph. slump happened. Same thing could happen to Bradford. OU is poised to play for the MNC, DEPENDING on how Bradford plays. I'm hoping for soph. slump.
 
If the line blocks like they are supposed to and not like the Fiesta bowl.And some of the junior receivers along with iglesias can step up and we should have a strong running game as well.Bradford probably won't have the numbers he did last year,but should not trail off to much.But Hell who knows?
 
i think of bradford more like ken dorsey. looks great when he has outstanding pass pro, which is most of the time, but not nfl material when there is any kind of pass rush. now dorsey i think is a backup in the league, so that's not a bad career to have.
 
Count me as not particularly interested in Bradford's pro career. I believe he's 1-0 v UT and I'm hoping for a major sophomore slump. And I believe that fact that he got knocked out of the Tech game early was the only reason Tech won that game.

It makes me kinda happy to say that OU is 0-2 that last two visits to Lubbock. I think I'll head over to youtube and search me some highlights.
