Apartment for Next Year

I currently live in Jester and can't stand it. (Long story) Next year I am getting an apartment and I need help. I don't have a roomate in mind so I am just going to have to be assigned a random roomate by the apartments roomate matching service. I am also hoping to get an apartment that has leases where you rent the room and are not held accountable if your roomate breaks his lease. The places that I am looking are mainly Melrose and Crossing Place off of Riverside, as well as Univeristy Commons on Wickersham. Anyone have any experience with these places? or any other suggestions? Thanks.

I lived in Melrose last year.....cant really beat the size of the apartment for how much you pay...very safe and comfortable place to live...but be prepared for traffic hell anytime you want to go anywhere....and be prepared to get screwed out of a lot of your deposit(as i am sure with most places)....melrose leases individually so you dont have to worry about that....another problem i found was that they did not respond so well to complaints...my bedroom was right next to a construction site where they started loud loud drilling at 2am until dawn....I live in west campus now and love it much better just because of location and atmosphere....but I would say all in all Melrose was a nice situation, I just hated the location...because Riverside sucks.

Few more questions that weren't answered on the other thread. How long does it take to get to UT on the shuttles that run through College Park? Thinking mainly of Crossing Place but also Wickersham Lane. Also, if you drove to campus instead of riding the bus, how long would that take? Thanks.
