is anyone else's im ******* up? someone sent me some link yesterday, and apparently i'm sending it today. it disguises itself as an away message.

anyone know what to do with this thing?

someone at work got a similar virus on MSN Messenger. They had to shut down Messenger and run their virus scan several times.

reasons like this....ok, i've been on aol im for like 5 years and never had any problem. i'm really looking to fix it, not change my im situation.

Did somebody that you knew send you a link that said "hey, is this you in this picture? click on the link"?

I've got that message from a few people I know who wouldn't send me stuff like that so I didn't click on it...just figured it was another virus.

yeah, something like that. i dl'ed and ran a virus software and it caught a few things and isn't doing it anymore. not sure if it was a virus, or adware, or what. it didn't cause any damage that i know of.

trillian doesn't change your IM situation other than let you run one program that can connect to Yahoo! Messenger, AOL IM, MSN Messenger, and ICQ.

I'm not claiming that the AOL IM virus won't happen on Trillian, but it hasn't happened to me.

well, you can run secrure IM sessions and I'm just recommending a better product. friends don't let friends use AOL (or MSN)
