It does look like a Mimosa. They are fast growing and prone to pest problems and disease.

I do think I see the Valle Mamba perched on a limb. I have a special filter on my computer so it is more obvious to me. Yeah, good thing you did not leave your car and did a drive by.

To this day I still check out limbs and branches on trees...for switches. I guess it comes from the practice I gained as a kid having to go to a tree and select the switch I would be beaten with.

On 2nd looksy, I think the blooms are too prominent, in the picture, for it to be a mimosa. But its definitely from the same genera plant family - the Acacia(s).

Mimosa. Pride of Barbados is a bush that tops out at 6-7ft.
