I'm in the final stages of my move and my first thought (obviously) was "am I going to be able to watch UT football here???"

Looks like there's a bunch of cable providers out there and not sure if any carry LHN (because that would make my move TOO perfect!) Any Horns do any game-watching in the Parsippany area?

You really are the Prodigal Horn.

I worked for 2 different companies over about 15 years based out of NJ - I spent a fair amount of time there. I hated it but if, if you have to live there, Parsippany is tolerable compared to other places in the Garden State. Rude *** drivers up there.

Best wishes and good luck on watching the Horns - can't advise you there... BTW, there is no chicken fried steak, good Mexican food or Shiner Bock up there bro and the woman folk... uhh, I will just say your gonna geatly miss

I'll be working in Parsippany, living in Madison - it's actually a really cool little town where you can pretty much walk wherever, jump on a train and be in the city in an hour. Not bad.

I won't lack for Italian food for sure, but definitely the Mexican food isn't looking promising. Aside from burrito places, I'm not even sure I've seen a Mexican restaurant around that wasn't named Chevy's. (ugh...)

But it's a really pretty part of the state, and it definitely shouldn't be lumped in with the shore or with Newark. I'm a little concerned about my accent disappearing but then I've lived outside the state for seven years now so it's probably disappearing fast.

I lived in Jersey City for 11 years before moving to Texas. Parts of NJ are really nice. My uncle has lived in Somerdale (south, near Philly) for a long time. that was a nice town. My cousins lived in Morristown, near central Jersey. Central Jersey and some of the Northern parts can be real nice. Can get anywhere via a train, but the view from the trains is trash. those are the crappier parts of the state.

Stay off the turnpike. Tolls are a *****.

Can grab a great slice of pizza up there. (local lingo would be a slice of pie). NY pizza is the best.

Welcome to jersey, been here for six years. It's not so bad. I am a few train stops down in Morris plains. Once football season gets closer shoot me a message. Verizon Fios has LHN, I've got it. Our bar in NYC is Stout, good turn out there for games. Don't know NJ hangout, but there are a few decent hidden gems where I can influence tv position.

Let me just say that if you took the train into Penn station that I took today, you might change that opinion. Trust me, it was a very enjoyable hour

we're in philly -- which is close to jersey (half of my colleagues live there). verizon fios gives you access to LHN which is a bonus.
