Anyone heard of Nova Imports Luling Smokers?

I was visiting an HEB in Round Rock on my lunch break, and saw some awesome smokers. All I can tell is that the sign said Nova Imports Luling Smoker for $398.99.

They looked awesome. Barrel design with two smoke stacks, side box, heavy duty steel that was welded not pieced together.

I couldn't find a website. Anybody else heard of them or use one?

I too would like info on this.

I don't know the brand, but you seem to be looking for the right stuff. I'm going to be in the market for a new smoker in a couple of weeks, and right now I was leaning towards the Old Country from Academy that retails for about 100 bucks more.

here are some pictures I took with my cell phone. Sorry for the poor quality..

Those help a lot.

I honestly don't understand the dual smoke stacks, but to each welder their own, right?

It's a pretty cool design. You can close off either one so if you want more smoke to linger in the cooking chanmber, you leave the lower stack open while closing the upper. I like the flexability since other builders seem to go with one or the other.

Went by the HEB plus in Round Rock to visually inspect this one. It wasn't labeled as a Nova Imports, but rather as a Laredo. Either way, a pretty nice rig for the price point, but I found it odd that while the fire box is welded to the main chamber, the smoke stacks are bolted on. Seems like an odd choice.

Cooking area was a good size at 20x40, and the sign in the store indicated that it was 10 gauge steel. It was definitely not as thick as the Lyfe Tyme models they were carrying.

Speaking of Lyfe Tyme....I am in love. Those things were heavy freaking duty. I was thinking that I would buy something in the $500 range, but after seeing those I believe I will be saving up a little longer to get something higher end. The build quality was fantastic.

I went and checked this out and decided to pass. The weld quality didn't seem up to par and I would have liked the steel to be a bit thicker.

I think I'm going to get that Old Country Smoker from Academy for $100 more.

I think I would pass. I am not sure I can more highly recommend the tejas smokers. Simply outstanding quality, easy to maintain temp, and produces insanely good que. I have had mine about 10 years and it is still brand new.
