I was about to leave ****** time warner for direct tv but don't like them not having hbo/showtime on demand and also needing a phone line in the house.

Then I saw the at&t u verse bundle package or whatever its called. The dvr looks better than tw and direct tv but it also has phone and internet.

I'm curious to anyone's opinion who has this; I have road runner for internet now, would I notice a difference if i switched to at&t dsl?

all of uverse gets nfl network. i've had it for a long time now and i'm very happy with it. installation will take forever (8 hrs at my house, 12 at my neighbors), but it's worth it.

I dont hink you have to have a phone line with directv, I dont. You may need it for some features. Also with AT&T you are limited on the number of HD signals you can view at one time, depending where you are you may only be able to view one HD stream at a time, but more likely 2 streams. Basically there is a limited amount of bandwidth you can use. Anyways my info is a year or so old, it would be interesting to know what someone more infomed knows.

Big fan of Uverse.

Love the dvr remote, I have ZERO channels with bad reception (unlike a ton with TW). Biggest complaint is you cannot pause live TV in more than one room so you have to decide which room is your main DVR setup. You can watch DVR from every room but you cannot pause live TV from everyone.

I think this will be eliminated at some point but the Technology is not there yet.

The Uverse DVR, and the whole box for that matter, is eons beyond what Time Warner has, and even that is an understatement.

Only having 2 HD streams in the whole place has kind of sucked, but we've only run into it once or twice so far.
