Anyone have rotator cuff surgery ?

Has anyone on here had rotator cuff surgery ? I am going to have this done Thursday. My orthopedic surgeon said I had a significant tear in my shoulder and also my bicep will also have to be re-attatced. He said recovery time is around 6 months. Just wondering if anyone has had first hand experience and if you cared to share your thoughts?.

mine wasn't as bad as yours. I had it done in August 2002, the doc had to scope it. Minor tear playing softball. The first week after was the worst. Arm in a sling, pain pump attached. But after that it was no big deal. Lots of physical therapy (working on getting the arm raised up). I would say I was completely pain free about 6 months later. Honestly, 85% of my day to day movements were unaffected, it was the other 15% that involved any movement above a certain angle that reminded me I wasn't superman. I was playing ball again in the spring of '03.

I've had two ruptured biceps tendons (not same time thankfully) and a shoulder replacement. Re-attaching bicep tendons is a pain in the *** because your arm will have to be immobilized for several weeks.

Most painfull surgery I ever had was the shoulder replacement.
