Anyone going to see Ice Cube tonight

I will be there. If you haven't been to the Mohawk site...you should go. That's all I am going to say. Cube goes on at 10!!!!

Only if they show clips of "Are We There Yet?" before the show.

I would have killed to see Ice Cube (NWA) in 1989, but 20 long years later in 2008? Not so much.

It was a good show. He was into it for sure. No vocal tracks...it was all him. He really likes Austin; his label tried to cancel the show a couple weeks ago, but he really wanted to do it at a small venue in Austin. He played all his hits and did some NWA stuff as well. It was definitely fun and he does the work on the stage. I was saying afterwards how funny it is to think of him 20 years ago as a hard core gangsta and now he has such an aura around him...he seems very down to earth, some one you could invite to dinner and you could hold a conversation with and your mom could as well. There aren't too many people who can do that, transend generations. It is pretty amazing to me.

Glad you had a good time, but for me personally, it always seem disingenuous to hear middle aged, wealthy musicians singing their older songs about rebellion, anger, and unlawfulness. I have no doubt they believed those words 20 years ago, but now?

I love the Sex Pistols, but i have no desire today to see a bunch of old wealthy geezers, singing about "no future" and "being vacant" on stage, while taking my hard earned cash in the process.

I guess i am a grumpy old man these days who would rather see a bunch of hungry 20 year olds, who can barely play their instruments, yet have a shitload of energy, talent and inspiration.
