Anyone flown ExpressJet?

We flew it a few weeks ago to Kansas City for the Big 12 Tennis tournament. It was actually a pleasant experience... we got real food that we didn't have to pay EXTRA for, and there was satellite radio with a bunch of different channels (I didn't try it).

Almost everyday for the past two weeks.

ExpressJet has been around for years, but in the past Continental was our only customer. Continental recently took a small portion of business from us and gave it to a lower bidder. ExpressJet still does about 75% of the RJ flying for Continental, dba Continental Express. The lowest bidder is doing the rest. But we took our extra airplanes and formed our own brand to serve small cities that don't currently have anyone flying direct between them.

ExpressJet airplanes are flown by former Continental Express pilots on former Continental Express airplanes. But this side of our business is no longer associated with Continental whatsoever. Ironically, when Continental decided they didn't need all of our airplanes anymore, we left them with the oldest ones and took the newest nicest ones with the extended range and better equipment. They've all been repainted in ExpressJet colors and outfitted with new memory foam seats. $1 beers and free XM radio in every seat.

Even though we look like a new airline, our employees have been here for years and things are running smoothly. So far we've had zero flight cancellations and are running at more than 97% on-time arrivals. I've spent last week and this week flying from SAT to LA and Sacramento. Every one of those flights has been an early arrival. Our delays are much less frequent since we aren't going through any hub airports.

More than once in the last two weeks I've heard customers tell our flight attendents that it was the best flight they've ever been on. Most of us know that our jobs may depend on the success of this new venture and I've been impressed with my co-workers attention to good customer service.

Anyway, you can now get from AUS or SAT to lots of places with a direct flight now, where there was none before. I know not everybody likes the little airplanes, but hey, you have no middle seat, you can valet your bags and have them waiting on you in the jetway, and right now since we are still "new" the loads are pretty light on most flights.

I don't mind flying them, except I almost always bang my head on the overhead compartment getting out of my seat. You would think I would learn, but I not very highly evolved.

So, in general, people have had positive experiences on ExpressJet? My wife and I are thinking about taking the morning non-stop flight from Austin to OKC for the Oklahoma State game. Two round-trip tickets for $266 is hard to beat.

The wife and I flew from Austin to Los Angeles this summer. Absolutely loved it. Super cheap, comfy seats, XM radio, good times. I plan on making it my life's mission to convince Expressjet to start non-stop service from Austin to Vegas.

I've since flown XJet between the time I started this thread and now, and I loved it.

fast, XM radio, snacks n snacks, $1 beer. Pets can fly a lot cheaper than American. Definitely no complaints here.

i've always liked the continental portion, and i guess that's all i will ever get living in houston?

also, chuy, a good friend of mine probably works with you, controller AT
