Looking at getting 4 Kumho ECSTA ASX tires for my wife's 626 to replace the more expensive Dunlops that are balding. These 195/50WR16 got excellent reviews.

Anybody bought Kumho's before? Good tires? I've never heard of Kumho before I started doing some research.

I bought 4 Kumho ECSTA HP4's for my Camry over two years ago. and they have been excellent. I had never heard of Kumho either, but read the good reviews and decided to give them a try. They have better traction and are quieter than the Dunlops I had just prior. I will need to replace the Goodyears I have on our other car and will be buying Kumhos for it as well.

How are the Kumho's in price compared to the other name brands? What was the savings percentage at the time you bought them? In the next few months I may replace my Goodyear Eagles. I want tires w/ raised whites but have found that most are for SUV's or trucks.

I have purchased two sets of Kumhos and have been very pleased with both. Good value.

I paid around $65 each over two years ago. The Link Dunlops and Pirelli's were $75 to $85 while the Goodyears were $90 to $125 each. The Kumhos have been better than the Dunlops, Generals, Goodyears and Bridgestones I've had in the past 15 years. I haven't even considered the appearance and don't know about raised white letters. We'll all be on tweels before too long anyway:The Link

I was just playing around the tirerack site, which I love. I am pretty sure that I will use that site to get tires next time and will prob. get kumho's. I remember reading about them last time I was on that site but not right away. Thanks for refreshing my memory.

Kumho's offer a great bang for your dollar.

I use the Kumho Ecsta MX on my camaro. They are almost as sticky as a drag radial. They are far superior that the Goodyear F1's that came on the car. The goodyears didn't off the dry/wet traction as the Kumho. The Kumhos are also much quieter than the goodyears. From tirerack the Kumhos were $135 (285/40/17) versus 220 for comparable Goodyears. I believe the ASX is more of an all season tire, whereas the MX is a high performance summer tire.

I also put Kumho Venture HTs on an Explorer. They are so much better than the Michelons. the Michelons were very rough riding. The Kumhos are quiet and ride much smoother. These tires were are $56 each versus $110 for replacement Michelons

They might be cheap, they might be quiet, they might be a good value for the dollar, but no way they are better than Michelins.

I think you have been served, accurate. That darned Bandit, hard to battle that.

I've been wrong before.
If you got a long way to go, and a short time to get there, you're eastbound, just watch those Kumhos roll.
