Anyone been to mauritius?

Trying to plan a honeymoon. We have enough miles to fly for free.. Originally thought of going to tahiti/bora bora.. but that is getting a bit expensive... so thinking about Mauritius, would like to go somewhere we will probalby not have the opp to go again.. We met a lady in Austin who said we should go here and she raved about it. From what I've seen online, it looks beautiful. So any and all thoughts are appreciated?

I have an architect uncle who oversaw the construction of a hotel in Mauritius many years ago. From what I understand it is an extremely beautiful place, but I also understand that you might want check into the Seychelles as well. I have no idea whether that country is more or less expensive but it is similarly situated geographically, supposedly much more secluded, less of out tourist destination/crowded than Mauritius, and I have repeatedly heard the sands likened to talcum powder.

The Seychelles ranks very highly on my list of places I want to visit before I die.
