i'm in town on business until the 15th

anyone got any advice on some "must-see" places?

also... i'm considering taking a train to NYC on saturday (with a couple of coworkers), and just spend a few hours there cuz i've never been.

good or bad idea?

I went to Baltimore as part of an East Coast baseball trip once and had a really great time. If the Orioles are in town you've got to catch a game at Camden Yards, arguably the most beautiful stadium environment in all of baseball.

You should also check out the Babe Ruth museum (Baltimore was his hometown) if you're into baseball history.

If none of that interests you just take a stroll around the Harbor area and something is sure to entice you. I know they have a really amazing aquarium right in the heart of the harbor district.

They have a "Little Italy" neighborhood with some great restuarants as well. Plus if you get bored you can always go to D.C. which I think is a much better place to spend a few hours sightseeing than NYC.

watch out for this guy.....

thanks for the advice.

i'll print those pics & keep 'em with me.

i went to little italy on tuesday, and had some great food and tried my first canolli.

i've been around the harbor, and tonight i might get to go to an O's game, but don't know for sure.

if not... i may do the aquarium.

and if NYC doesn't work out tomorrow.. then D.C. is the backup plan.

oh... and i went to mo's the other night for seafood, and got crazy on some alaskan king crab. that place was excellent.

some gangster ought to take a page out of kenny kramer's book and do

the real avon barksdale baltimore tour

show you where everybody got killed and the vacants and the shipyard and the corners and everything. souvenir bulletproof vest.

I love that ******* town. I used to go there for business and have had some great times there. People in that city can seriously drink.

In any case, go to Little Havana on Key Highway if the weather's nice.

bozo, i'm sending you a PM.

i wound up going to NYC on saturday and went to D.C. on sunday.

had a GREAT time at both places, but MAN i'm tired. my legs are killin me.

got to ride subways, saw the statue of liberty, ground zero, times square, empire state bldg, central park, and visited the dakota apt. building where john lennon was shot.

in D.C., i visited the white house, lincoln memorial, jefferson memorial, FDR memorial, wash.monument, vietnam wall, etc...

Save New York for a seperate trip when you have more time. Philly, DC, and Annapolis make great short trips from Baltimore.

Looks like you've already hit a lot of the highpoints A couple of things I might add. Go to a crabhouse before you go if you haven't already. They're kind of like Maryland's BBQ joints. L.P. Steamer's is a good dive one by Fort McHenry. Obrycki's is a good one in Fells Point close to the inner harbor. If you haven't been to Fells Point, it's a cool neighborhood with tons of pubs and some live music. Was there for three months earlier this year. An underrated city imo.
