Am in town for a class reunion. Passed thru Las Colinas. What is that "thing" they are building at NW Highway and 114? Looks like something out of a space colony. Very odd looking structure.

They are building a convention center... I know I was surprised the first time I saw it.

Ahhh....ok. Honestly the first time I saw it, I thought it was going to be an ampitheatre or something given the shape and height of the roof. Thanks for the info.

I work in the tall building at Mustang Square just south of there and we were all wondering the same thing as it started going up. Strange looking building with all the copper and such. The DART light rail is going right through that area too. I have heard rumors that they want to build an amphitheater just east of the convention theater as well, but who knows. I imagine it will be a difficult given the fact that they just built that apartment complex across the street and are putting up a bunch of houses just north of it as well.
