Anti Virus question

My subscription with Norton expired and I now have Avast installed. Well, I just ran a thorough Virus check and it came up with about 1000 files all beginning with C:RECYCLERNPROTECT0000598.cfg.....exe
Now are these just Norton remnants or something important that I shouldn't delete?

i think norton just keeps crap u delete there in case u wanna recover it someday.

he's right. you can get rid of them, they're just back-ups of deleted virus'
