Anthony Cook

Yeah that was a big deal down the stretch. They're playing guys on the back end right now that probably shouldn't be playing meaningful snaps at this point in their development, and it's showing.

He was also a sure tackler, which was evident on their 4 missed tackle TD for them.

I don't think he's being put in a position to succeed. I think this staff has basically said "we need veterans where we need veterans" and they are throwing Cook to the wolves on some of these cover zone schemes.

While I'd love to say that this falls on PK, I think Gideon and Joseph should answer for it. Maybe it's solely their job to say "here's the personnel we're going with and let the chips fall where they may," but I don't think Anthony Cook is a bad player. That slant pattern against Austin Jordan in the ISU game is a prime example of having Cook play safety with zero tools for it.

Where would you put him?

This is his best chance at the NFL. And it’s an opportunity to show versatility.

Go look at replays. Cook is the or one of the most decisive and disruptive guys we have. Dem0 and Cook make that D go...when its going. And Watts and Jamison have generally been good in coverage....but the motor is those two named above. We will miss Cook sorely in pass coverage and especially in tackling and run/short passing game support. Both were generally good this past week and if you'll look....Cook is in on those plays very often..including helping blow up the play he was hurt on. ISU fared better once Watts went out and OSU did nothing the latter part of the 1st half and most of the 3rd quarter until Cook went down.
We have a pretty cohesive unit that can defend most teams..but no margin for error or room for injuries.
41 pts is the most the team has given up all year...and thats too much. Im convinced it would have been about 31 if the offense could have sustained anything over that 6 possession stretch.
We missed a great opportunity, and now will have to be better without one of our better defenders.
We have a bye week and a team with a less prolific passing game coming. We were stout against the run and short passing game Saturday....we'll find out in two weeks just how important Cook was/is in that aspect because thats KSUs bread and butter.

My wife asked me why they had a towel wrapped around his arm. Told her when they wrap it and hold your arm like that, it’s usually broken. Was hoping for a bad sprain. Dang!

Big podcast listening coworker swears to me today that Cook will be back on field in 2-3 weeks... guess we will see.
