I heard we had four defensive lineman redshirt last year. Is this true? If so could i get there names please? Ive searched and found hide nor hair.

Caleb Bluiett, Paul Boyette Jr., Bryce Cottrell, Alex Norman, Hassan Ridgeway

I think either Bluiett or Cottrell played.

Bluiett moving from TE to DE. Boyette..DT. Cottrell..DE. Norman..DT...Ridgeway..May be moving to DT from DE.. Can't find info on Ridgeway or Bluiett having played.

I thought we were going to be thin at DT this year?

I think I saw in one of Macks pressers that Ridgeway was at or around 300lbs. now. He is gonna be a tackle. Numbers don't mean we won't be thin at a position. We really need these guys to be a force.

It doesn't matter that there were 4 defensive lineman in last years class and a fifth now moving to d-line, don't you know to never let the facts interfere with a Texas fan saying the sky is falling.

Texas stocked up last year on D linemen but struck out in the recent 2013 with the possible exception of Raulerson who will start on the OL. He could be a DL.

For 2014, there are not many DL studs in Texas based on early rankings. Per Rivals, there are NO highly rated DTs and 3 DEs one of which has verbally committed to Texas (Roberson). Myles Garrett and Solomon Thomas are the other two DEs.

Texas has offers out to the three mentioned above along with DEs: Jarrett Johnson from Katy and out-of-staters Denzel Ware (AL), Gerald Willis III (LA) and Andrew Williams (GA).

Ware recently verbally committed to Kentucky.

No offers yet to any DTs.

Or some DTs develop better than expected and good ones show up on the recruiting radar.

Or stock up on DEs and convert a couple as they add size - these guys are only 17 or so right now..... still growing boys.

Ridgeway's gotta spin up to DT. Ain't no way we're playing a 300-lb DE. This isn't the NFL and we don't play a 3-4.

I could possibly see Cottrell as a smallish DT. He's kind of like Steve Edmond... a little too big to play LB but a solid tackler. If he gets up above 260, he might fill the role that Maurice Gordon filled so well during our early 2000s seasons.

Bluiett worked solely at TE last year, so he probably needs a year at DE to work out the kinks.
