Another New Orleans Thread

Spending a long weekend in New Orleans in early March. Haven't been there since I was a kid. What do I need to know? What do I need to do?

I know there have been other New Orleans threads... but they are mostly focused on food. Don't get me wrong... I love food... but I am curious what I should do/see as well.

DDay Museum was pretty damn cool last time I went. I'd definitely recommed that.

Well I booked a room at the Ambassador hotel (a few minutes walk to the French Quarter). I'm paying $148 total for two nights (which includes all taxes and fees). This was the cheapest thing I could find. I'm afraid I went TOO cheap. I just looked over the reviews on TripAdvisor... and they are a little scary. Anyone stayed at this place before?
