Another hybrid vs fairway wood club question

There was a thread sometime back about hyrbids vs. fairway woods and which is easier to hit. My question it a little different so I thought I'd put it in a new thread.

If there are a hybrid club and a fairway wood that are the same loft, should I be able to hit them the same distance? Which are easier to hit?

Also, as for hybrids, should the gaps in distance between clubs be approximately the same as the irons? For example, should the gap between a 3h and a 4h be about 10-15 yards?

Hybrids have shorter shafts. Longer the shaft, the further it goes and the harder it is to control. That goes for a lot of things in life.
