Anniversary Trip....

So the wife and I are taking an anniversary trip next year for a week and can't decide where to go. Has to be a beach front destination and initially were thinking Costa Rica or Dominican. We've already been to Maui, Cayman, Mexico (most cities), etc....and were looking for a more exotic destination to travel to this time around. Suggestions and recommendations on places to stay? Would prefer an all-inclusive type resort.

Chaz,
I know you said you have been to Mexico before, but if you stay in an all inclusive, I assume you will be spending most of your time there and not out and about. I have posted this on other threads here. The Link My wife and I took our honeymoon there on the advice of my travel agent.... LOVED it.

Wife and I are looking to plan our 15th anniversary trip as well. we are leaning toward a 9 day trip to Costa Rica. Spend 3 1/2 days in the Arenal area (La Fortuna) and then 3 1/2 days on the west coast. With two travel days. I really want to go to Bora Bora/French Polynesia but the wife says the plane flight is too long. I looked at D.R. (Punta Cana) but there are not as many things to do or see there as C.R. The chance of seeing an active volcano is just too cool to pass up, plus there is trip where you can repel down a few water falls. There are a few A.I. resorts on the west coast of C.R.

We went to Belize in 06 and that was a great trip. Spent three days at the Hidden Valley Inn outside of San Ignacio or look at the Blancaneaux lodge which is owned by Francis Coppola. We did not stay there but we stopped by and had a beer in the bar. It is very nice. We rented a car and drove ourselves. I joke that you have not lived until you have driven a car in a third world country (plan on driving ourselves in C.R. also.) The second half of the trip was on the island of Ambergris. No A.I.'s but u can not get any more laid back than this island.
