When LSU and Ben McDonald bounced them, OSU was playing New Orleans in the Sunday night bounce game at our regional. Stadium and parking lot were pretty full of happy happy Texas fans. One guy went up to the upper first base corner of Disch-Falk, and was able to pick up the Closet Station (that's a great name) radio station. He would shout out the play by play, and people would relay it around the stadium. When LSU finally won, it was awesome. Everyone cheered and laughed their *** off, everyone in the parking lot celebrated, and the noise scared the hell out of the OSU players on the field. I like to think that helped them get beat by UNO that game.
Maybe if someone has a video or audio of Gus and the aggy comment (didn't know that 'aggy' had been around since '89...), they could send it over to the other board. Sounds like they'd be interested in reminiscing about all things '89.
The trem "aggy" was coined on these boards around 1998 or 1999. But their group think philosophy has been around forever.
Gus said, "Where are the aggies now?"
And it was hilarious and so unexpected. Gus was always the perfect picture of decorum, but he'd had enough of hearing about how eATMe U had the greatest team in the history of college baseball.
It was the only time I ever heard Gus lay down any smack, which made it all the more delicious.
