I got an email(actually as part of an email thread started years ago) from someone who is a friend from long ago. Had not spoken with this person in over 10 years.
He is highly educated successful as a lobbyist and is also a published writer.
The email was a vicious rant against Trump's personality/ character with all the usual insults. He ended it with saying he would vote for Rasputin even Putin, anyone else.
Not one word about what Trump did or didn't do as POTUS.
I am disappointed that someone as intelligent feels hatred like that yet ignores reality.
I want to respond saying I understand his disdain for Trump as a person. "So which of his policies or actions as POTUS do you not like"
I would list some.
I don't care about losing a non existent friendship.
But would I be wasting my time?
Btw so far none if the 20 others o the email thread have responded.
 
Sounds like a real bummer, 6721. Would you accomplish anything by responding? Probably not.
I have some friends who are liberal and express their opinions of the Trump policies in a controlled manner - we have some interesting, friendly discussions. My favorite bridge partner is a single lady, ten years younger than I; she is as far left on the political spectrum as I am to the right. She is well-educated and well-spoken, and we have many fulfilling discussions. She brings a focus on issues, not personalities.
OTOH, there are some folks in our bridge club who have TDS - they don't really understand what they're voting for, they just know they're voting against Trump. Trying to discuss issues and policies with them is liking talking to the wall - a total waste of time.
 
You are right, When someone is that full of hate nothing reasonable anyone brings up will be heard.
It just is sad to witness. What happens to these people.? I don't know of any Hillary Biden Harris derangement syndromes

He is an example of brainwashing. Actually the more intelligent you are the easier to brainwash. Finally some folks are more easily brainwashed than others. Look up susceptibility to hypnosis on Wikipedia. It explains it. It also explains the trans movement.
 
Maybe mc But He certainly isn't smarter than me. Probably richer but not smarter. He was a lobbyist so maybe he was more comfortable with linear thinking.
