I had just gotten up at 6 a.m. today and was in a pretty foul humor because I was afraid that today was going to be like all the previous days this week for me: sucky to the max.

My husband was just on his way to bed and he said, "Well, it's a win-win for the Rangers." I told him I knew that we had won the ballgame, because I checked it on my phone when I woke up in the middle of the night, but then he said that Ryan/Greenberg had won the bid. I started to cry tears of joy at that moment and decided was a pretty doggone good day already!

If I have to go to bed before a game is over, I actually dream about it! I wake up several times every night anyway (it's been so long since I've slept straight through that I don't even remember what it's like) and the first thing I do is check the score. (I do this even if I got to watch the game to its completion.) Then I look at the standings just to make sure we're still in the lead. I might even watch a video or two from the game, and then I put my phone back under my pillow, roll over, and try to get back to sleep.

I check Angels and As, and I also look at what the Yankees, Rays, Twins, Tigers and Chisox did, since their performance will have an effect on what we do in the post-season, should be be lucky enough to get there.

It's hard work to live and die by a Major League Baseball team, but smart phones make it easier, and it sure is worth it!

This is the first yr I've had MLB Extra Innings (can watch all games), love it. Horn69 or Woo mentioned Vin Scully's greatness, a one man show of play by play and color commentary w/ no partner in the booth. It's awesome to hear that guy call a game.

Btw, if y'all have directv it has that "scoreboard" function. Hit the red button and you see scores from around MLB....and college f-ball in the fall

We used to take Extra Innings on TW and loved it. We can't afford it now, but the MLB.com "At Bat" app on the iPhone has saved me. I use it more than any other app and it has paid for itself times over.

TA, as much as i like xtra innings i doubt i'll re-up next yr. I do watch a lot of baseball, but the mlb network is almost as good when you add all the games on other channels. Hardly a need for xtra innings unless you're a fan of a team that's not the local club
