An ode to Sam

After all the turnovers in late game situations last year I just didn't think he was the future and that Buechele and Rising would surpass him this year.

I WAS WRONG!

Confession:
I was one of those calling for Boo to start at the beginning of the season.
Then Maryland happened and I was sure Boo was the man for the job. While I still think Boo is capable, Sam is playing lights out and deserves to start.:beertoast:

Not sure if he'll be all-conference ahead of Murray and Grier, but it's more comforting that we'll have him here for another couple of years.

I thought Vince should have been moved to WR.
I hated when Ryan Perriloux flipped to LSU - I knew we missed on a future Heisman winner and NFL Hall of Famer.
I thought Jevan Snead should have beat out Colt.
I thought Chiles should starts.
I seriously thought Garrett Gilbert would be the best Texas QB EVER and leave with at least one Heisman.
I seriously thought Tyrone Swoopes would be the best Texas QB EVER and leave with at least one Heisman.
But I always thought Sam would be a star....
tight end or linebacker.

You are not alone. Many of us believed several of these things if not all.

Hes a gamer. I looked and thought he just had the worst offensive line ever. You cant be good with no O line.

Honest question: between Vince, Colt and Sam who had the best tools around them? (Oline, WRs, RBs).

Also, we are all remembering Senior Vince and Colt, not Sophomore versions.

I won't speculate about all the position groups, but I would have to think the O-line group that included Studdard and Sendlein would have to near the top if not the at the top. Those guys brought a level of nastiness we haven't seen since and the type of leadership that is hard to come by.

This bears repeating:

Done.
