An Army Fans Thanks

First trip ever to Austin, and the whole experience was absolutely great up until....well, you know.

Thanks to the Agnors for showing us what hospitality means, UT style. Every Army parent and Army friend that attended the tailgates was equally thankful.

There is nothing greater in sport spectating than a bond formed from respect between opposing fans.

I am not having a great day today, as neither is the team, but still remember fondly the great cheer and open arms of the Longhorn fans.

Thanks for your hospitality, thanks for the warmth and respect shown our players, and best of luck to the horns as they move on.

Hopefully, someday we will be the team that no one wants in their regional bracket...something I know horns fans can already relate to with the tradition of winning there at UT.

Hook 'em Horns...and,,,oh yeah...
GO ARMY!

Your entire group and team was an incredible bunch. Y'all showed pride, determination, respect which is what athletics (not just college) should be all about.

Your team was AWESOME and y'all have our respect for certain. It's always kind of a shame that both teams can't somehow win but hopefullly, in the game of life, all involved in witnessing and participating in this past weekend's efforts grew in some way -- big or small...

Thanks for taking the time to post again and CERTAINLY I'm hoping we can call email the powers that be and set up some sort of series with you guys next year. We'd certainly love to have you back and give your guys a rematch opportunity (which I'm willing to bet that they'd welcome)!!!

This was a most enjoyable regional for many reasons. The quality of play (no blowouts like in other regions -- FSU/OSU ring a bell?), respectful fans, and a bunch of gritty kids doing their best for their team, their school and their fans.

I will remember this regional for a long, long time.

Living close to Fort Hood as I do, I have a special place in my heart for Army. I wish the Black Knights could come down here to play us every year!

Go Army, and Hook 'em Horns!

True pleasure to have Army here for the Regional. Loved meeting you parents and I'm guessing you are Mom who wanted to hear someone speak "Texan". Hope so.

I'd love to see you guys back here for a regular game or two. Maybe we can have you guys back for the end of season DH.

Thank you again for your son's service as well as all his teammates.

As I previously posted, the team bus stopping at our tailgate was the most incredible thing I have experienced at a regional. You guys are first class and thanks for showing us that honor and respect still mean something.

Chip,

You have our warmest heartfelt "you're welcome!" Truly, this weekend was our pleasure and our regional experience was heightened exponentially by the presence of the cadets, the coaches, and the wonderful parents and fans. From our side, having the opportunity to provide something special (hopefully) for both the team and for y'all was a "task" that we were quite happy to take up.

Please make sure that you let all the Army tailgaters know how special y'all's presence was for us too and that y'all are welcome at the tailgate ANY time.

You have a team with a heck of a lot of heart and determination (no surprise honestly). And let's not forget talent! Those players were talented no matter the seeding. Agreed with others that playing in the future would be extremely welcome. Props to all the players, parents and fans of Army.

This is why I have advocated a football home and home series. If you have never been to an Army football game on the Hudson Shore, you have missed something truly great.

This Gold Star Family was honored to be in the presence of the young men from the Academy.

Quite frankly CPLZ I'm not sure I'd want Army in our bracket again. Your team put up more fight than any four seed I can remember. Let's just say they had more can do attitude than most.

Thanks for the kind words and hopefully ya'll can continue the improvement. I'm glad you had a great experience. Even though I didn't get a chance to attend these games, I take great pride in welcoming those that want to be welcomed.

Thank you for the kind words. Whew, I am glad the Horns don't have to play ARMY again this season.

Here is to ARMY

I can't quite figure out how Army was a #4 seed. You have a team to be proud of for sure.

I'm glad you enjoyed the experience and hope you can come to Austin again. We would be honored to have you.

Hook 'em

really enjoyed reading 2LT Tyler Anderegg's diary also. Would like to read his last entry, but the last entry is 5/31. Hoping to read his reaction to the last game, from what I could see online it looked as if they handled the loss with 100% class.

CPLZ,

I'll never forget watching the Army team stand in respect during The Eyes the first game they played Texas. We don't get that sort of sportsmanship very often from opponents.

And your team displayed ultimate class for the rest of the regional.

I do hope the Army team and its fans make it back to Austin again soon. We'll welcome you just like we did this time.

Thanks for all that West Point does for all of us.

Thanks for the post, CPLZ.

Like the rest of the posters, I'll tip my cap to your team. Not just for the heart it showed on the field, but for the respect it showed after the game. You don't just represent your service academy, you represent the USA and you do it well.

And I pity the fools that ever take your baseball program for granted.

I was at both games Sunday and Army is a good team, period. I was very impressed with the fact they had the fundamentals down but I guess you'd almost expect that from a West point team. I second that the Army fans I talked to were all class. God bless yall for the service to our country.

BTW,, I was very impressed with the all the nice young ladies wearing Army shirts.

In sports, a victory can be deemed heroic only if your team overcomes heroic efforts from the opponent.

Army's performance and behavior was a class act. We thank Army for their effort in that game, and salute them for their service to our country.

I was very impressed with the play and poise of the real Army baseball team. I respect them greatly and am glad to know that my middle son will be serving with such great men. He leaves in two weeks for his first assignment as an active duty Army Chaplain with the 101st Airborne. This is part of the reason I had special interest in last weekend's games. Wish you guys well.
