My personal opinions; This may brighten someones day, but not mine! As an aggie, with our athletic director of the last 5+years Bill Byrne, in the process of hiring a complete new football staff, I've been thrilled with every new coaching announcement about the " new emphasis on recruiting"!
Every team gets 85 players and the difference in winning consistantly is the talent level.
D1 coaches have often said that recruiting alone wins you 70% up to 90% of your games. MB has proven this!
Public records show that for the years of 07, 06, 05, 04, and 03, the total number of top talented four and five star athletes recruited by the mnc teams of this decade are UT 62, ou 67, lsu 76, florida 75 and usc 77( this is a five year total); A&M during this same five year period recruited only 32.
Then the record shows that our new coaching staff, with all the emphasis being put on improving recruiting, during the same five year period of 07-03 recruited only 2 four and five star athletes in total; depending on which projected coach fills last position, this number will either remain at 2 or jumps to 5. ( Compared to UT's 62.)
Unfortunately, this may turn out to be the worst Aggie joke of all time? I truly hope not.
