AMEX Cards

Ok sorry to keep bombarding the board with questions about moving to NYC but what are you experiences with

1) Amex Green

2) Various Amex Gold Cards

3) Amex In NYC

Which one is the best bet for me? I am gonna want to link my corporate card to my personal account so I can collect the miles...

They all seem pretty similar to me - I can have year one of my Gold card fee waived if i choose that one....

Thoughts??

bottom line as all you questions are essentially related: while you may get awards off your corporate card, and ot your personal as far as I know you cannot amrry the two, I'I'm about damn near certain you cannot get rewards both ways. what I mean is if you have any type of non corporate Amex you cannot transfer rewards to another account, its not "you" credit it's your companies, and vice versa. Am I answering what you are asking?

Well not really because I know that some companies (including mine) allow employees to link their personal amex to their corporate amex and accrue all points on their personal card. American Express allows this because they don't care who uses the points really, and it gets more cardmembers like me in, who would never use an Amex unless a situation like this arose...

I am really focused on the differences between the cards and the experiences that anyone has had with each...

I collect points into one Membership Rewards accounts using my Corporate Amex, as well as my personal Amex Gold. It is easily done..

In regards to Amex Cards, unless you fly/travel a great deal, I see no reason to pay $400/yr for the Platinum card. The AMEX Gold allows you to collect points at the same rate as the Platinum and it is only $50/yr, which is usually waived if you spend enough...

Platinum is only worth it if you travel about 50% or more. Then it is worth it in spades.

The Gold ones that I found cost $90, $130 or $150.... which one is the $50/year one?

well then I stand corrected. is this new? I wanted to do this about six years ago and I was told I could not.

the AMEX in NYC thing is reletively new, I would suspect they do it for other cities too. I don't know anyone who has one.

I seemt o use my BofA cards more than my Amex, for Services and Travel I use my Amex, better support if I need to contest and or dispute the charges.
