As much as I'm ashamed to admit it, did anyone else besides me see this last night? (I know there are a few others on here who at least admit to watching that show.)

I still like Brooke but that David Cook dude really hit it out of the park last night. His rendition of Billie Jean was very good and very original.

Also, WTF was that David kid singing? I've never heard of that song in my entire life and the lyrics didn't make and sense at all. Even Randy had never heard of it.

David Cook gave me chills last night! DAMN GOOD rendition of "Billie Jean"! The song David Archuletta did was an Australian song, but not sure of the name. Simon knew it, and I agreed with his comments. I only caught the last 4, but while watching the recaps, wasn't too impressed with the others for the exception of Brooke and Kristi Lee Cook. Should be interesting to see who gets the boot!

Deadhorse:

I was going to laugh at the fact that your only reply to this thread came from a chick...but, I've been watching the show on and off this year.

I usually only watch the first few episodes to laugh at people. This year, I watched a bit longer so I could watch the look on that one pansy's face that got voted off 2 weeks ago. (The little pouty, goth, wannabe).

I like Brooke because she looks like my wife - except that my wife's mouth is not nearly as large. I like the black dude as well. His family is cool.

Cook really nailed that song. I had to rewind and listen to it again. I would actually buy that.

I liked Carly's Total Eclipse of the Heart until that idiotic run at the end that ruined it for me.

I thought Brooke was her usual bad *** self, but I kind of agreed with Randy and Simon about the arrangement. I though she should have just stayed with her and the piano.

Achuletta can sing his *** off, but he can't pick a song to save his life.

Australian Dude whose name is now slipping my mind, did a great job with We Will Rock You/We are the Champions.

Kristi Lee Cook is now officially on track for a lucrative country music career. She is Nashville's dream. Unfortunately they need to give her a personality transplant.

Everybody else was ok, but forgettable, except for Ramielle who flat out sucked. I'll give here the benefit of the doubt since she was supposedly sick, but she hasn't done **** in a month.

When this gets down to Brooke, Cook, Carly, Australian Guy, and Robbie Castro, it's going to be epic.

This David kid has a decent voice for a theme park or broadway performer. His performances have sucked for weeks, and that thing last night was a total disaster. He should be gone, but will hang on for several more weeks.

Ok Ok...I won't say Buble sucks. I mean, he has a great voice and obviously there are people who like his music. It's just not my cup o' tea.

What's funny about American Idol is that most of the singers (even the finalists) can't really sing that well.

Fortunately for them (and most so-called "country" and "pop" singers), once you get them in a studio, you can "produce" away their flaws. But for live performances, they really aren't that good.

The one exception is that guy who rocked Billy Jean last night. He has a genuinely strong voice. The others were extremely pitchy and flat. I don't know if their ear monitor systems suck or what, but it's like they can' hear their own pitch.

I agree with pretty much everything Sgt Longhorn said... Brooke will always be my favorite, but I really liked Kristy & Michael Johns last night as well. I'm hoping Ramiele or Chikezie will be leaving tonight.

POTENTIAL SPOILER: DialIdol predictions for tonight are below. Don't read further if you don't want to know tonight's possibilities ...

DialIdol is predicting Rocker Cook, Pagent Boy, Irish Lassie, Aussie Mercury, and Country Cook as safe.

Predicting bottom three as (starting with most likely to go home): Chikezie, Castro, and Ramiele ... with possible Syesha and Brooke mixed in.

Seacrest introduced David Cook's performance as being the Chris Cornell version of Billy Jean. So, I think he was upfront about doing his cover of a cover. Regardless, it rocked. They are all singing covers right now, so I am not expecting "art", just performances and he was great.

Agree with all posts on Cook. At first, thought it was brilliant of historic proportions, then located the Chris Cornell version on youtube last night and downgraded it to brilliant of weekly proportions.
I will disagree with one thing; Cook sings as well as Daughtry (which is dang well). Daughtry writing the song "Home" already puts him on a different plane, however.

Yes, there is room in Nashville for Kristi Lee; she has more personality at this point than Carrie Underwood, is every bit as cute, and is 95% as good a singer, which is close enough.

Well Mike's spoiler was correct. Not sure it was time for Chikezie to go, but the public voted.

Kristy Lee should do OK next week with Dolly Parton. Wonder what Dolly song David Cook can uncover to cover this week!

I'm with you on Brooke. I even like her voice when she's talking. There's something about a woman with a raspy voice.

I looked up the lyrics on that song David sang. Here they are. (WARNING: Suckage ahead.) This song really doesn't make any sense. Plus, the "whoa ohs" are actually part of the lyrics.

We have
The chance to turn pages over
We can write what we want to write
We gotta make ends meet before we get much older
We're all someone's daughter
We're all someone's son
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun?

You're the voice try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear
Whoa oh oh
We're not gonna live in silence
We're not gonna live in fear
Whoa oh oh

This time
We know we all can stand together
We have the power to be powerful
Believing we can make it better

We're all someone's daughter
We're all someone's son
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun?

You're the voice try and understand it
Make a noise and make it clear
Whoa oh oh
We're not gonna live in silence
We're not gonna live in fear
Whoa oh oh
