It's usually at most .50 or a buck cheaper than shiner. But I'm kinda burnt out on Shiner right now since I've basically been drinking that for about 10 years now.
I have no idea what it is that I like so much about it. Its got some great flavor with out being to overpowering I guess.
Exactly what Napoleon said (I'm 31 & it was around 29-30 that I started getting tired of it). My problem is that I enjoy a single shiner every once in a while. But I really can't drink more that two of them with having a dry-mouth/gag reflex.
To each their own. For basically equal money I think Shiner is much better. I would drink it over Bud Americal Ale. That being said, I bought regular Bud for the first time for a Super Bowl party, just because the closest place had a 20 pack of long necks for cheap. I must say, I enjoyed it better than I ever thought I would. I also currently have some Lone Star in my fridge. When I get finished working in the lawn a 'lighter' beer is nice, and at 8.40 a 12 pack, Lone Star is fitting that bill right now.
I am also a Stout and Porter fan.
I normally don't drink what I call "middling" beers like this. I'll either drink some really cheap stuff (pabst, keystone, lone star) or some really good microbrew)
