"We dont know anything about Taiwan except for we like Thai food."

Probably the greatest line of the year.

Jenn was hard to take, but Nate was just ... man, what a weirdo.

I'm happy with the final 3. Maybe it's just fancy editing, but it really does seem like Ron has developed into something resembling a caring and nurturing human being.

Don cracks my **** up. Love that guy.

I thought it was a terrible episode. Once again, a team who makes a HUGE mistake and falls behind by over 3 hours isn't remotely penalized because they bottleneck the teams four different times throughout the leg so that all that matters is who fucks up last.

That's been a complaint of mine since the show started, but you can't fault a specific episode for that, as it happens in every episode. Would the show be as exciting if teams essentially built unsurmountable leads halfway through the season?

I enjoyed the episode, and I was happy to see TK and Rachel get back into it. I think they have to make it where anybody can get back into the race at any time, because like the previous poster said, it would be boring if teams were able to coast with huge leads.

I thought the challenges were pretty weak in this episode though. The lamest challenge ever was where they had to sit as a passenger in a stunt car and then hold their breath for a whole 17 seconds. Basically you had to do nothing, just sit there.

I think Christina's ability to speak the language was the big difference in this race.

Nate and Jenn were good comedy with their constant bickering, but it was time for them to leave as they definitely did not deserve to win it all.

Nate & Jenn....wow. Now that's what you call a birthday gift. Their relationship & gameplan was summed up perfectly when she insisted they take the subway rather than a cab (like Nate was suggesting) & then breaking down & demanding Nate make the decision & fix things after she screwed up. They should probably stay together as I can't see either of them being a good partner for anyone else on this planet.

Re: the bottlenecking, it's always going to be that way. Each leg is basically designed as a fresh start for everyone. Love it or hate it, that's how it works. On top of it adding to the drama of the race, it's also a logistical requirement. There's no way they'd be able to have Phil waiting for a team to finish that could be many hours or even days behind other teams.

I've gotta admit that TK & Rachel's speed bump was ridiculously easy & non-penal. Take a 1 mile cab ride & then sprint 50 yards through fireworks? It probably took them longer to put on the fire suits than anything else. That couldn't have been more than a 20 minute penalty.

TK & Rachel also get props for being shown how to use the automated bullet train ticket dispenser & using that knowledge to catch the train w/ the other 2 teams. It may have been editing, but it looked like Nate & Jenn could have made the 1st train if they'd used the ticket machines instead of standing in line @ the counter & then whining about not getting tix.

And did Nicholas really say that everyone was playing like little *******? Nicholas?!?

In fairness, Nick said everyone was playing like ******* and his comment included himself in that. I think his intention was that nobody is running a great race and it's true. If you were to put together an Amazing Race: Champions Edition, I'd guess the winner of this season would be one of the first out. And they definitely wanted to bottleneck as much as possible this leg to create drama at the end. I'll admit I was wrong about Nate and Jenn winning. The over-editing of them was foreshadowing them being their own undoing. Here's how I look at the teams going into the final leg:

Christina and Ronald - They have hit a groove in the last couple of Episodes. Ron has behaved himself since Christina yelled at him last week. They started slow but on legs 4-10 they've finished no worse than 3rd. When they work together they have done pretty well on challenges. They haven't really made any big mistakes with travel or anything like that. If they stay mellow and working together they have a good chance of winning. They've been over edited almost as much as Nate and Jenn, and the reformed overbearing dad storyline leads me to believe they should be the favorites going in to the final leg. The last leg of the race usually has some sort of memory challenge and I'd think Christina would be the best at that sort of thing.

TK and Rachel - They definitely work better together than any of the other teams left. Aside from the flying challenge, they usually do pretty well on all the challenges. Outside of the challenges they seem aloof a lot of the time. They're biggest asset is the physical advantage. They are both young and he was collegiate swimmer so if they can stay up with Ron and Chris on the travel and on the challenges, they should be able to win in a footrace.

Nick and Don - Probably the also-rans. They finished first one leg thanks to the fast forward and second another leg when the other teams all fought a bunch. Other than that, they've been in the middle or back of the pack barely surviving a lot of the time. Nick isn't particularly athletic and despite being a pilot, can't find his way out of a paper bag. Gramps is a tough bastard, but limited physically. If they win it will be a big upset imo.

Oh yeah. What city was Jen and Nate going to called "Tah-Pie"?
