In case y'all haven't heard about this... The aggies are changing the words to their War Hymn. Here's the official press release.
A&M GRANTS MFR STATUS TO TEXAS TECH, ALTERS LYRICS TO WAR HYMN
COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, NOV. 7, 2001... After the unfortunate events following last weekend's football game between Texas A&M and Texas Tech, university officials have seen fit to grant "Most Favored Rival" (MFR) status to Texas Tech University, which will now be referred to by all Aggies as "lubbock university" or "l.u."
In granting this request, which l.u. has made repeatedly for the last several decades, it has also been necessary to revoke MFR status from texas university.
"Those dadgum teasippers are just way out of our league now," said A&M head football coach R.C. Slocum. "l.u. is definitely more our speed these days. And we feel we finally have the 'burning desire' to beat the hell outta l.u. since they tried to impale our fans with their goalposts. Whoop!"
In light of these decisions, A&M officials have decided to alter the lyrics of the official A&M fight song, "The Aggie War Hymn."
Following are the revised lyrics:
Verse 1
Hullabaloo, Screw Texas Tech
Hullabaloo, Screw Texas Tech
Goodbye to texas university
You are no longer our main rivalry
Hello to t-squares and tortillas
You have a team who plays more at our speed
You tore your goal posts down and taunted us
After you shut out our poor team (you’re so mean!)
So, goodbye to lubbock university
We’re gonna hate you all to
Chigaroogarem, Chigaroogarem
Guns up? That sucks! Texas A&M
Verse 2
Hullabaloo, Screw Texas Tech
Hullabaloo, Screw Texas Tech
Goodbye to lubbock university
Goodbye to the red and the black
Thank you to “hero” Mike McKinney
He is the one who pushed those goal posts back
“The next one up is gonna get i-it,”
he said, just be-fore he got tagged (by an Ag!?)
So, goodbye to lubbock university
We’re gonna hate you all to
Chigaroogarem, Chigaroogarem
Guns up? That sucks! Texas A&M
Pull Zorro’s mask off
Pull Zorro’s mask off
Pull Zorro’s mask off
Off! Ay!
Zorro’s mask has fallen off
Zorro’s mask has fallen off
Zorro’s mask has fallen off
Off! Ay!
