In case y'all haven't heard about this... The aggies are changing the words to their War Hymn. Here's the official press release.

A&M GRANTS MFR STATUS TO TEXAS TECH, ALTERS LYRICS TO WAR HYMN

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, NOV. 7, 2001... After the unfortunate events following last weekend's football game between Texas A&M and Texas Tech, university officials have seen fit to grant "Most Favored Rival" (MFR) status to Texas Tech University, which will now be referred to by all Aggies as "lubbock university" or "l.u."

In granting this request, which l.u. has made repeatedly for the last several decades, it has also been necessary to revoke MFR status from texas university.

"Those dadgum teasippers are just way out of our league now," said A&M head football coach R.C. Slocum. "l.u. is definitely more our speed these days. And we feel we finally have the 'burning desire' to beat the hell outta l.u. since they tried to impale our fans with their goalposts. Whoop!"

In light of these decisions, A&M officials have decided to alter the lyrics of the official A&M fight song, "The Aggie War Hymn."

Following are the revised lyrics:

Verse 1
Hullabaloo, Screw Texas Tech
Hullabaloo, Screw Texas Tech

Goodbye to texas university
You are no longer our main rivalry

Hello to t-squares and tortillas
You have a team who plays more at our speed

You tore your goal posts down and taunted us
After you shut out our poor team (you’re so mean!)

So, goodbye to lubbock university
We’re gonna hate you all to
Chigaroogarem, Chigaroogarem
Guns up? That sucks! Texas A&M

Verse 2
Hullabaloo, Screw Texas Tech
Hullabaloo, Screw Texas Tech

Goodbye to lubbock university
Goodbye to the red and the black

Thank you to “hero” Mike McKinney
He is the one who pushed those goal posts back

“The next one up is gonna get i-it,”
he said, just be-fore he got tagged (by an Ag!?)

So, goodbye to lubbock university
We’re gonna hate you all to
Chigaroogarem, Chigaroogarem
Guns up? That sucks! Texas A&M

Pull Zorro’s mask off
Pull Zorro’s mask off
Pull Zorro’s mask off
Off! Ay!

Zorro’s mask has fallen off
Zorro’s mask has fallen off
Zorro’s mask has fallen off
Off! Ay!

Kudos to the author, that is funny! Can we construct and then burn down a tortilla factory? t+1 will now be A&M-Tech and we'll play in the annual "goal post" brawl to be held in the Alamo Dome every year!

"he said, just be-fore he got tagged (by an Ag!?) "

Thinking about that part with the music and the crowed yelling "by an AG!" is too freakin' funny.

OUT-STANDING!

Now they're going to try to make maroon tomatoes and call Texas Tech students/alums t-flips (tortilla flippers)

Maybe now the red raiders will stop bugging us for a rivalry and the aggies will realize ours with them isn't that important.

Yeah right, but I can dream can't I?

I was in Longhorn Band a few years back. We had a great version of the Aggie War Hymn:

We are a bunch of country hicks,
We are a bunch of country hicks.
We are the kiddies of the kiddie corp.
All little aggies ages two to four
We play "the soldier boy" from dawn till night -
We are the boys with the "real old fight" (sung with limp wrists)

"The Eyes of Texas are Upon you"
That is the song they sing so well.

So rickey ticky zam, rickey ticky zam,
All to hell with Texas A&M

I want my mo-meeey, I want my mommy
I want my mommy, NOW

It is a long way out to the outhouse
if you can't make it, stop by the smokehouse

"Guns up! That sucks! Texas A&M!"

That's priceless. I couldn't stop laughing.

Also, newsflash to hornknee, that's not something specific to the LHB. Almost the entire student section sings that during the War Hymn.

The Wild Bunch has sung Kiddie Korps for years, too, but I do believe the words were actually penned years and years ago by a member of the LHB.

They used to have a guy named Cox that was pretty good at writing parodies. I remember one he wrote about KFC since that's what the band always got for lunch on bus trips.

I don't know if he wrote Kiddie Korps or if it was someone else. But I think the words originated in the LHB and spread from there.
