I think "top ranked" is broadly used here to mean one of top teams not number one. Most polls have Texas top ten and a few top 5 that I have seen. TCU seems to be the number one pick of early polls and understandably so with the pitching staff they have.

They also say Texas is coming off a 5th Conference "Tournament" championship. You would think the UT web site could get things right!
