Aloe plants and desert roses...

Planted both this past spring in the bed next to our pool and they've done very well.
Does anyone know what type of precautions I should take w/ them over the winter?

Cover the aloe for sure, the deeper the freeze the heavier the cover, make sure to pin or weight it down on the edges as best you can, will keep the warmth in. Make sure you remove the cover tho every day when the temps are above freezing, or they will wilt pretty bad.
