Let's hear it ... all-inclusive reviews for Mexico. Group of friends are looking to book something for July, don't have a particular place nailed down yet.
Requirements

Great pool
Nice beach
Young crowd ... group is 27-30, with some single people

I hear the Iberostar Playa is good.

I'm making plans for the wife and I to go to Maroma Resort and Spa for June, for the third time in a year. Wonderful people and service, great beach and spectacular food.

I vote Hotel Maroma and a Freddy Margarita...........And, NO ALL INCLUSIVE!

yes, have had it. bought some on 5th avenue one trip. I've been going to Maroma for at least 10 years, and it isn't quite the same as it used to be when it was a lot smaller, but it is still one of the all around best places I have ever been. Damn, now you have got me craving a Maroma Breakfast and the fresh guac.

I would love to have gone when it was smaller (pre-Orient Express), must have been magnificent!! My wife and I have thought about going to Rosewood Myakoba to the south but we really love Maroma. This is our third trip to Maroma since last June. We really don't want to go anywhere else and with Mexico being hit hard by the recession, airfare and hotels prices have dropped drastically. We were going to go to Europe but its crazy expensive right now.

Man, it is night and day...pre OE vs. now. But, still, now is better than most places aspire to be. We started going to another place a little further south since we have kids now. Can only go to Maroma by ourselves. Occasionally, we call ahead to Maroma for dinner reservations. They don't normally take dinner only reservations (I'm sure in today's economy they might), but they know exactly who I am and call me by first name on the phone when I call. Service, service, service. Still a first class operation. They believe in details. you could not have a penny in the bank, and they treat you like royalty. Really cool place. Speaking of royalty, we were there about 5 years ago and Tony Blair was there with family. Had a british naval ship anchored off the reef. pretty cool. Tom Cruise hid out with Katie Holmes at Maroma pre marriage. Really 1st class place for Mexico. I will quit singing their praises before more "t-Shirt fans" try to invade it.
