All Gas No Brakes

Please do not get me wrong, I love the theme of the Horns for 2021- "All gas no Brakes" , but I also don't like signature themes that the media can distort once we lose a game. I envision after our first loss in 2021 the head line in the Austin American Statesman sports section " No gas- brakes not necessary". If we lose to OU , Longhorn sports media has invited the prostitution of the theme from our competitors.

The theme is OK. If it means that Sark isn't planning for a multi-year rebuilding program, with associated whining about how hard it all is, then it's even better.

As for the media - well, a bus full of media types going over a cliff with two empty seats is a horrible, tragic waste - of two empty seats.

I must register my profound reservations over this ill-advised slogan, as well, to wit:

"All Gas" promotes the wanton combustion of fossil fuels to the detriment of our environment.

"No Brakes" promotes reckless driving (of which I see far too much of on the roadways of Houston, thank you).
