Rice & TCU regionals looking like the Baptist teams will advance...Baylor to host if both hold on to win?

Evans diamond is a dump. No lights, no seats...

If DBU has even a fence around the ourfield they should host..

Wow. Giving up 6 runs in the last 2 innings to lose by 1. Ouch.

..and both the Grand Prairie Air Hogs and Frisco Roughriders are playing home games this weekend, so no dice on those two fields.

I wonder if they would consider something like UT-Arlington?

wonder how many fans that stadium holds?

West Coast teams are all set to play in the South.

UC Irvine vs. Virginia in Charlottesbille, Va.
Stanford vs. North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC
Arizona State vs. Texas in Austin, Tx
Oregon State vs. Vandy in Nashville, Tenn
If Arizona beats Aggy they play FSU in Tallahassee. Fla

If they dont give Cal the regional and make them play in Dallas, Tx, there wont be a regional on the west coast and therefore no espn late game.

The way Baylor imploded in the 9th inning was really a train wreck. 2nd baseman lets a tailor-made double play ball go between his legs. Then after the next batter grounds into a FC at 2nd, they get a Cal runner caught between 3rd and home and botch the rundown with the runner safe at home. Truly an epic collapse with a golden opportunity to host a super regional.

Re: Baylor

Was watching, and implosion is without doubt the best explanation. Unbelievable collapse, with no errors up to the bottom the 9th.

Nontanative - the play by play call of the Cal announcer in the 9th inning was quite entertaining. It would be a worthy candidate for homer call of the week.

DBU field looks very nice and it's big enough to hold the 200 Baptist fans and 7 Cal fans likely to show up.

Cal dropped baseball, but alumni donations saved the program. Cal should not be rewarded with hosting a super regional when the university administration obviously does not support baseball.

It's basically one or two stops south of Stanford/Sunken DIamond on the Cal Train.

I'm rooting for DBU to kick the ever loving snot out of Cal.

Caltrain doesn't go to Berkeley, so not much help there. Oh well, shows Cal for not building a real ballpark. Go Bears!

But I can't help but think of his Holiness, Baylor President Ken Starr sitting in the press box watching it.

I smile.

DBU got hosed. They were working on a deal to use Quick-Trip by moving the AirHog's games, but DBU and the NCAA had issues with the liquor signs. DBU and Quick-Trip were working on this issue when the rug was pulled out from under them by the NCAA.

Don't worry about Ken Starr. I'm sure he and the rest of Baylor are still smiling from the double digit turd loaf they dropped into the mouth of our once great football team.
