When's the last time we had a guy make 4 FT's in a row...a Big...and at Crunch Time? Played really solid defense and smart down the stretch. Obviously moved ahead of Matt Hill in the rotation and proved a lot tonight.

While the offense lacked a lot of ability to make FG's, esp. in the 1st half - how many FG's were dunks off of misses? - at least they battled in the 2nd half and hit a few jumpers, Jordan and Gary, I believe.

And while we're at it. FFFFF Scott Drew!

Wangmene

Just like you said Horn 69 "obviously moved ahead of Matt Hill".

Wangmene is a beast. He needs more minutes.

Totally the clutch guy tonight and does a better job of not turning the ball over.

...Barnes scours the remote parts of the planet to find the most out of the ordinary talent....to Turkey to find a whirling dervish of a guard who cant hit a jump shot, much less take one, do me a favor Dogus jack at least one a game...you know what would be the ultimate weapon of mass destruction ,Balbay having a 15 footer Barnes has kept under wraps .......and on to the Cameroon to find a gazelle with seemingly a 10 ft wingspan who cant dunk dink or drink...and before you all flame me, I say all this with great affection and am soooo happy we won last night and if the team feels the way I do this morning we should be alright ...just in time for tournament time...O Canada...

Wangmene was huge last night and has shown a nice touch from the FT line all year, but I'm not ready to say he's moved passed Hill. I think they are both capable of having those kind of games. Barnes just needs to identify which one of them is "on" and play that one more.

Wangmene's block on Jones sure looked to be all ball.

Actually, the zebras missed the hack on G.Johnson by Acy, then incorrectly called fouls on Jones (clean block of HIll) and Wangmene (clean block of Jones).

Hill and Wangmene each have their place. Hill is more valuable against a big, bruising frontcourt, while Lexi is better against softer, more athletic bigs (think UNC and Baylor).

"Yeah, I don't know what to say to that other than my eyes apparently work better."

Not so much, may want to have your eyes checked. The BU player's hand was all ball, but his forearms hit Hill across his forearms. Wangmene had all ball as his hand was between the BU's player's hands and arms. Clean block no question.

Don't recall whining during the game or now, nor do I claim to be a superior fan. I just think refs spend to much time trying to "evening up the calls" instead of making a call or not during play. I would have been fine if foul was not called when Hill went to dunk, but the call on Wangmene was a total "even it out" call - in response to Drew's whining. Wangmene's hips may have made contact after the block, but the contact came first or at the same time on the block attempt on Hill. Big difference in my limited fan experience.

It would not change my opinion of the 2 fouls regardless of the teams involved. There are times when Texas gets a break or a ref misses a call and I admit TX got a break or the other team got jobbed. This is the case regardless of the sport. Thank goodness I am not a BU fan however.

This thread seems to be fading out, but I've been thinking for several days that Wangmene certainly has the sweet stroke to be a decent 3- point shooter. How come Barnes doesn't run a pick and pop for him once in a while a la Connor Atchley. I'd love to see him shoot some three pointers.

Good call on this post. Yes, Alexis made some huge free throws at the end that pretty much pushed the Horns over the top.

Man, that was sweet!!
