interesting pilot. i hope it grows more than just a show about chasing former alcatraz inmates that reappear in the future. I'm not sure if this chick jones and jaime garcia can carry this show. JJ abrams must really like him. i like robert forester as a cast member. i havent seen him in a while. sam neil is well cast. he plays the dark sinister guy pretty well. overall, it has the makings for a good show. they obviously spent a lot of money on it. it has high production value.

I also liked the premier but agree that it needs to grow and probably needs to grow quick or it could be short lived. I don't think the casting is too bad but it's early on and I don't know much about casting anyway. I like the concept of the show so far.

although a good one with a good villain, another basic cop show version of the series. im hoping for some more mysteries of the island and plot development to occur.

I watched the pilot and the subsequent weekly episodes. I gave up on it tonight during the bankrobber episode. Just not interesting.

I gave "Alcatraz" and "The River" each a chance to capture my interest.

Neither passed the test.

I've been to Alcatraz and the tour was interesting.

And Candice Miller's book about Teddy Rooseveldt's experiences in the Amazon jungle while exploring for the River of Doubt was good too.

Or, instead, watch Bogart and Hepburn in "The African Queen."
