Austin Orange

I may be moving here. Can I get the low down on areas to live? I am 30-something, single and will work from home. Want to be in a nice neighborhood close to center of activity. Compared to Austin, looking for Clarksville, Tarrytown, Barton Hills, type of area.

Thanks in advance.

You definitely want to research this. There's a lot of gang related violence in the metro area.
Some of the northwest parts of town are more yuppified from the tech boom.

Ha, near where the activity is...in Albuquerque??? If you can live at home, move to Santa Fe if anything. Not a big city but tons more going on that would be fun than Albuquerque. Much less violence and crime as well. Albuquerque is a ******** for the most part. It is a place to go enroute to somewhere else, much better.

Do not move there.

I have thought about Santa Fe. I will be using the airport quite a bit though.

Anyone ever actually live in Albq? How bad is it? Good part of town? Thanks.

I go there a few times a month for work, but I don't really know what parts of town are better than others. I do know that most of the parts I see are shitholes. The lone exception is an area called Knob Hill near the University of New Mexico campus. Lots of trendy bars, coffeeshops, restaurants, etc... It's no Austin, but it's good enough for me to enjoy an afternoon and evening there from time to time.

It should take you an hour or a little bit over it to get to the airport in ABQ from Santa Fe depending on where you live. You can hitch on a bus that likely has wifi on it so you can do things enroute.

I have lived in ABQ but as a kid but visited it enough over the years to know it is not hip.

I lived there for a couple of years while in the AF. Northeast Heights is the preferred area to live. As far as the crime, no different than any other city as far as I'm concerned. I visit there often and it's not a bad place to live.

I was there last week and disagree. Though you actually lived there as an adult. I have only visited there more than a few times and was bored out of my skull.

I agree the heights are generally where you would look. If you want to save money, Bernallilo, lol.

Move to Denver.
