RPI #282 10-17 Alabama A&M

Ouch. That isn't going to help our RPI one itty bit. They are only 20 spots ahead of 0-18 Coppin State who holds the honor of being the worst team out of 302.

Is there anyway we can say, "Dude, seriously?" and not have to play them? At least they are a bit better than Alabama State (#293). Fooey.

I have no idea why we're not playing Texas State more often.

Ty has a damn good team, but their RPI is going to be killed by playing Houston Baptist and Prairie View.

They should play six midweek games each season -- four in Disch-Falk and two in San Marcos.

College baseball RPI is a non-issue, we have a playoff system and the there's no way we would lose anything meaningful even if we lost both these games.

If anything, we'll get extra voter credit for reaching out and hosting the Bulldogs.

The fact that they lost a 3-game series to Alabama 42-1 means nearly nothing to our post season opportunities. Believe it.

Sorry BH, you've missed the boat on this one.

A number of major programs have agreed to play schools in the SWAC for a number of reasons, which I agree with for the most part.

While it could happen that our RPI will suffer a tiny amount, it wouldn't be enough to drop us from a #1 to #2 or a # 2 to a #3 in a Regional.

As I said, I think we will get positive voter acknowledgment for playing these guys, so to think that we will suffer ANY loss of ranking, prestige or seeding in postseason is a stretch.

We could lose a tiny percentage of RPI points, but it doesn't even rate a blip on the radar as far as attaining our ultimate goal this year so any angst over scheduling Alabama A&M should be directed elsewhere.
