Ouch, 2,000+ to Nairobi. I might have a chance to go for a week or so but not if I have to fork over $2,000 just to get there.

Yeah, I know Kenya is kind of hairy right now. But my wife might be there for a month or so and it'd be cool to go if I could swing it. She also might go to Congo/DRC as well. This wont be until late summer or later some hopefully things calm down over there by then.

Right now, I'm thinking of making the trip with a 1-2 day short stop in London for the helluva it. That might make it cool enough to try.

Seattle to Nairobi.

Found the deal on cheap tickets. However, I am not sure when you are leaving.

I would also check out Kayak.com, they have an interesting feature where you can observe ticket price trends over a period of 60 days to see how it varies.

Last year,I flew to South Africa (from NYC) and paid about 1100 bucks for a round trip ticket. I got the deal from Kayak.

I AM A PRINCE IN NAIROBI. MY FATHER DIES BUT NOT BEOFRE HE HID TICKETS FROM SEATTLE TO NAIROBI FROM THE GOVERNMENT. HIS DYING WISH WAS FOR AN HONORABLE MAN WHO SMOKES CIGARS TO HAVE THE TICKETS. UNFORTUNATELY, ONE CAN NOT BE FOUND SO I WOULD LIKE TO KINDLY BEQUEATH THEM TO YOU INSTEAD. ALL THAT IS REQUIRED IS YOUR BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION AND SSN. PLEASE TO SEND RIGHT AWAY SO THAT WE MIGHT CONCLUDE THIS FAVORABLE TRANSACTION.

Try Emirates. They fly out out of Houston or NYC and on to Kenya via Dubai. You could schedule a stop in Dubai on the way there or way back.

I was just in Kenya for over two weeks this past summer. Traveled all over, fantastic country but they rape foreigners. PM for any questions you may have.

As for airfare I flew Emirates, fantastic airline. I went through dubai and spent a few days there. It was about $1600 roundtrip.

She is military, she has no choice I am sure. But hopefully they take better care of the doctors than they did with us infantry grunts.

damn.. it cost me $2200 just to get from Brussels to Liberia. $3400 for the whole trip. war torn countries are a ***** to get to. on the plus side, the liberian national airport just got runway lights (radar coming next year).

kenya's got the best airline in sub-saharan africa though, so it shouldnt be too bad to fly around once you get on the continent.
