I have never flown Air France before. I am flying with them from Houstin --> Paris --> Jeddah in about a week. What can i expect?

I have flown with:

Continental
American Airlines
Delta
British Airways
Lufthansa
Qantas
Singapore Airlines
Silk Air
Cathay Pacific
and some others but anyway,

Which airline does Air France compare to?

IMO very comparable to Continental with the exception that it is a French airline. This means free alcohol and better food. They will start with wine prior and during the meal and then brandy after the meal and your choice of liquors in the regular food service. Even in coach you can expect decent food.

Now if you are in business or First Class (there is a difference on Air France) other than better food and pushing wine on you versus other drinks you may or may not see a big difference. In Business class the conitinental flight from IAH to Paris is better but in coach Air France blows them away in the food & service department.

better looking flight attendants. I've always had a good experience with AF. Food as mentioned is good, lots of wine.

hot flight attendants, champagne service, wine with meals, better food, and a small tv screen in the back of every seat.

they even had some on demand programming.

tight.

Nice airline. Tons of wine. Good food. Friendly staff. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience with them, other than only one time being late arriving into CDG.

I can't believe your company makes you fly coach all over the world. That being said I'm pretty sure the flight from IAH is on a 777 which is about the best you can hope for.

I'm jealous of your flying experience with those airlines.

Only thing I know about Air France is they have cool TV commercials and a horrible main hub in Charles de Gaulle international airport.

Have flown AF many times. I have always been pleased, except my luggage is always lost. I get it one or two days later, but cannot fly AF without losing it. This may be as mucha CDG problem as AF problem, but do not lose it flying CO through CDG.

My wife thinks the service is not very good. We have travelled with kids many times, and I do think they do kess to accomidate kids that BA, CO, AA, etc.

They give you all the mini-baguettes you can eat(seriously).

It is a pretty good airline. I would rate it a little above KLM/Lufthansa. I haven't had any bad experiences with them.

As mentioned, Charles de Gaulle is generally the suck, but it depends on which terminal you are in. One of them is really skanky, and has nowhere to sit outside the gate areas or restaurants. If you have a 5 hour layover(like I did), it is brutal.

in general, the us airlines are the worst in customer service. if you can choose foreign, then i suggest you do so. continental is best of the US carriers. but given a choice, i'd choose AF over an american carrier. and air france is not that great, but still better than any us carrier.

I flew AF from Dubai-->Paris--->Detroit last year. Coach the whole way. It was good service and I actually enjoyed the food. The on-demand system was just ok. I found KLM's to be more extensive.

They were very attentive to our kids and friendly. Better service than BA coach in my opinion.

DeGaulle is horrible. I will take KLM/NWA anyday just to connect in Amsterdam. Their service is worse, but the connection is far better than Paris or London.
